How To Mobilize Yourself to Action

In my journey of personal growth I have been quite evangelistic, telling everyone about how great I feel and wanting to spread light and joy. But sometimes, I tell you, I am apathetic about making improvements in my life and this can be such a drag. You know what I mean, days where you sit around thinking about what you could be doing and what you should be doing. When this happens to me I try to figure out what is really going on.

Understanding the 'why' behind apathy does not make the apathy OK. It does help me to understand myself better and work through whatever is blocking me from being proactive in my life. It helps me to see flaws in my thinking and to understand what is emotionally crippling me at the time. Sometimes just acknowledging what I'm feeling stops the pity party in it's tracks and spurs me to make movements towards my goals.

If you want to mobilize yourself to action, you have to understand your goals within the context of your life. This includes your past experiences, your communication style, and how you handle stress and setbacks. It helps you to clarify your vision of what you are trying to accomplish, and resist being passive about what you want to do.
