The Influence of Other Writers

I think I am going to have to stop reading science fiction while I am writing. I keep seeing other writers' influences creeping into my work. I definitely want to develop my own style and voice. This hasn't been a problem for me when writing non-fiction and stories in other genres, but with science fiction whatever I'm reading that week, the style of that writer shows up in my work. Bleh. So no more reading sci-fi for me, for awhile. At least until I can work through this.
