Holiday Cookies Recipe

Happy New Year! I've been making lots of cookies this holiday season. Here is my sugar cookie recipe found in the Veggie Mama Book:

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
baking sprinkles/candy toppers, if you want

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F/200 degrees C. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. In separate bowl mix eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract. Then add to flour mixture. Roll out dough onto floured counter or other surface about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter or shape by hand. The kids and I cut these cookies with a knife; first we traced star outline on dough. Place cookies 1/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Now add sprinkles if you want.

Bake about 7-8 minutes. Wonderful warm as well as cool!
