Did You Know It's OK To Change?

Did you know it's ok to change?

Did you know it's ok to say, I'm sorry?

It's also ok to acknowledge your flaws. A flaw is something you can change. So is denial.

I am surrounded by people who are fearful of my personal growth journey, to the extent they don't want me to apologize when I'm wrong or speak on my flaws.

It is like some friends want me to stay stubborn, rigid, mean-spirited and petty. Their fear at my attempt to change is palpable.

I feel like someone covered in poop who just realized it. Then when trying to wash off the poop, others are yelling Leave the poop on!

I feel like they love the poop-covered Trula.

They are totally hating on the Fresh Trula. Oh well! people will either adjust or go away. Their issues are not my problem. I choose happiness!

I choose a clean, healthy, light-filled light. Bearers of darkness & filth will find their own way. But I will miss these people, I must confess.

My children sparked my change. I used to wonder about my kids, how did such good-natured, joyful, fantastic people come out of me?

It occurred to me that I could be just like them. I am not some used-up, broken, busted creature, doomed to failure, misery, greed & sorrow.

As I grow I realize I want to do good, I want to be kind, I want to be emphatic toward others. Empathy will include those trying to hold me back.

when people try to hold you back, it's not because they don't like the new you, but that it forces them to confront the things in their own lives that they could be changing. If they're not ready to make that change, then I think it makes them a bit anxious. It's their insecurity about themselves that's being shown.

I really agree with you and want to know what I can do to keep a good relationship with them in case that they already started to feel unsecured by the way I am or what I'm capable of. Because they are my co-workers.
