Are You Stuck In Crisis Mode?

Do you want to be happy but just don't know how to be? Does everything seem to be hard for you? Is life a constant battle? Do you feel you struggle and struggle and get no where, nothing ever changes? When good things happen to you, do you even notice or are you able to appreciate them? Are you a fighter, do you feel you have to defend yourself frequently? Do you constantly have a crisis going on in your life, be it family, abuse, money, relationships, sex, work, etc? When there isn't a crisis going on, how do you feel?

I am a happy person. I am a positive person. I strive for self-improvement. But I have experienced severe depression. I have experienced severe loss, huge grief, and deep, deep pain and trauma. After all the bad stuff that I've been through, I've been able to resume my cheerful nature and go on my merry way. There were many steps to get to that point but one of the first things I had to do was to get myself out of crisis mode. I had to no longer see myself as a victim or a person whom bad things just happened to. I had to truly desire the peace and happiness I claimed to want. It took me a long time to realize that on some level I didn't really want peace/safety/love/etc., because I wasn't conducting my life in a way that would bring those things into my life. But once I got that I could direct my own life, it was on.

This is for people with a positive attitude and willingness to share how they got on the happy journey. If you were stuck in crisis mode, please share how you got unstuck. Your words may help another person move forward in their life.
