20-Week Fitness Challenge: Week 3, Day 18
Question of the day: Where's the best place to get exercise wear/equipment?
I get my shoes at either Payless or Famous Footwear. Payless shoes are cheap but they offer brands like Champion which are fairly sturdy and long-lasting. I don't usually pay more than $20 for shoes there because I catch the sales. also at Famous Footwear, their shoes are more expensive, like $60-$100, but I will buy them on buy one get one free sales to get them half off.
Ok here are a few pics. Here is me last night, weight 201. I kept thinking I have some sort of wacked out body distortion because I just could not believe I weigh that much (at the start of the challenge I weighed 210), I just don't see it. at least in clothes. Ah, but without! I realized I had been avoding really looking at my body for some time. Plus I can still fit my size 12 jeans! Size 12 at over 200 pounds, people! But then, lightbulb, I realized that's the power of stretch jeans, LOL:

and in the jeans, full clothed. In a tee and sweat-shirt my distended belly disappears:

I wonder if there is a recognized syndrome of anti-anorexia, cause man I had myself convinced. and I am not tall, I'm 5'6!! LOL. but the more I think about it, the more I relaize it's because of me avoiding really looking at myself as well as how my weight is distributed. the bulk of it is in my thighs, bottom, and back. I never look at my back! I was truly surprised when I saw my back pics from last night:

I had no idea, really. and there was another row on top before the challenge. I think I also wasn't aware of my weight also because almost everything I wear is very loose or baggy or has ties and elastic bands as opposed to zippers and buttons.
I thought for sure our scale was wrong. I just knew I was 180 pounds because there was no way I weighed that much. Then we got a new scale, and I weighed myself at the Y too. 3 scales can't be wrong, I had to face the truth and deal.
I forgot clothes... I just wear short sleeve tops or tank tops I have had a while. I don't have a lot of clothes, I generally like to wear stuff till it gets real soft and comfortable because I have sensitive skin. I have 2 sports bras, both I got at Target. I try to avoid Target but the sports stores wanted like $40!! for a sports bra, huh. The ones I got at Target were $6. oh yeah bottoms... I alternate between a pair of real soft cotton long shorts I got at a thrift store and a pair of Mercury Man's jogging pants.
