My Veggies are Growing!

I’m just so excited! I will transfer quite a few of these next weekend into the ground or into a container up on the balcony. Newspaper peat pots on the front porch, these are broccoli, carrots, beets, lettuce, cucumber, cantaloupe, corn, green beans. Click/select to see big:

In the flower pots are tomato and lavendar, parsley, and oregano:

Newspaper pots on the back porch, these are basil, beets, carrots, corn, radishes, broccoli, cabbage, collards, peas:

My kitchen ledge also has a few seedlings:

This is one of the corn pots up close, not as clear as I hoped:

I’m still waiting for my okra to come up; I planted those end of March. For fun I planted orange, apple, pink grapefruit, and lemon seeds (from fruit we ate) and so far the orange seeds have sprouted. Ohio isn’t exactly orange-tree friendly but I think I can keep growing them inside, maybe. I’ll have to look it up. When the apple seeds come up and the sprouts get big, I’ll just plant them in the back yard and maybe one will take and grow. There is already an apple tree in the back yard and that is such a blessing the summer. This past weekend I planted spinach, eggplant, squash, onion, and pumpkin and plotted out the outdoor garden plot. Tomorrow I’m going to dig and prepare the ground.
