Sewing Projects

Those of you who sew, what are you working on? What do you have planned for this year?

I do everything by hand so it takes me months to finish a sewing project. My main things to sew are quilts and clothing for myself. I like long skirts and sleeveless, collarless, wraparound shirts in the summer:

I am currently working on quilts for my mom and aunt for their birthday (they are twins) in April. I meant to make a quilt for my mom and dad last holiday but didn't start it soon enough. I plan to make some more summer shirts, this year I want to make a few sleeveless tops with collars, like this:

Some stuff for my kids, I'm making wristbands for my sons, they are really into wristbands lately. Basically I just take a holey sock, cut off the foot part, and sew down the edges. For my daughter I'm making her a Hello Kitty flare skirt for her birthday in May. It's kinda hard. The material is denim and the Hello Kitty part is a big sew-on patch. For all the kids I make a quilt for the year-end holidays, I plan to start early on those this year, I'm thinking in April.

and I really really really want to finish this quilt I started for me and Brian's bed too.

I want to make a mudcloth vest or two (and probably a jacket as well--LOL) Other than the type of pattern, is there anything special that I need to know?
