Cleveland Zinefest Wrap-Up
So we pulled off the first Cleveland Zinefest! The turnout wasn't as much as I had hoped, but I am pleased and excited for next year. I have all sorts of plans and ideas, and got great input from the people who did attend. Best of all, I got to meet Kristen, who has edited the Zine Yearbook, and her partner Seven, who is co-owner of Center Art, where the zinefest was held. They are both so cool! and such a sweet couple. I had met and made all the arrangements through Mary, Center Art's other owner, who is also very sweet and cool. Special thanks go to my brother John, who ferried me and the kids back and forth since Brian, my husband, had school stuff to do and could only take us as far as downtown.
Things I learned:
1. There are so many zines out there! Next year I will make special effort to get more zinesters involved.
2. Do not change the date at the last minute!
3. Bring more snacks, LOL
